I mispronounced 'Radice' as "Ray-diss", too, until I learned better, I also said "Dess-kar-tees" for 'DesCartes'; and "Cant" for 'Kant', until I learned German. Now I cringe when I hear someone say "Girdle" for 'Goedel' (don't have the umlauted o to type the name correctly). But who says "Ahheen-shtahheen" for 'Einstein' even though that's correct? I don't. But 'Wittgenstein', I give the German pronounciation. French, I don't have a clue unless I've heard it. How does one correctly pronounce 'Chacom'? I say "Cha-kom". Should it be "Sha-ko"?
