Not been collecting long, but have always been passionate about 'smoke'. It's trippy, ephemeral and something that trigger parts of my brain that just about everything else does not!
Gave up the coffin nails about 6 years ago, dabbled with cigars pipes etc then but fears of bad health drove me to quitting. last couple of months I decided to put some real tobacco in my pipe, instead herbal mixes, tea leaf etc.
Past all that boring personal stuff, on the left are a collection of Cobs! Some are new to me and need of repair but the really black top bowl 'Legend' is all mine from new. Smokes a treat. Then there's an 'Old boy' by Mr.Brog, not bad for the money, but not quite as fancy as the original images gave the impression. (had to have it replaced also as the finish flaked off). Below that is a 'Wellbent' Peterson style mini. Smokes good, little bit gurggly but practical none the less. Right of that is probably my best pipe. Peterson Donegal rocky x105 with a solid silver band dated by lettering at 1973, smokes really well with a full sweet bowl of virginia.
And lastly my 'fanciest' pipe, made by Henryk Worobiec the no.88. Looks soo nice and smoked it today with great pleasure.
Once I've added some filler and coating to the old cobs they will slowly be added into use. I don't know how long I'll puff the pipe for, but I enjoy it and can see them becoming pretty used. Particularly the half bent as it has a lovely solid bowl (loose stem and gaps in need of filling though) and that teeny tiny little one. :) He needs a new bottom as his pith has been broken through but it's just so sweet, I hope it can be made usable.
Got a few vintage Sheffield made tamper tools aswell and some lighters. I keep most of it all with my baccy in this old wine box. Keeps the stink out of the air and keeps them all together for when I want to rummage and have a look. :)
thanks for looking,
Let's see your early collections vs now! ;)
Cheers

Suggestions for the future: You might want to consider at least one Forever Stem for one of your MM cobs, about $30, acrylic, and more durable than stock. And/or, a MM freehand that comes with an acrylic stem and a bigger than average bowl, a really nice pipe and about $30. I think you'd like both possibilities. Just remember, the Forever Stem makes a filter pipe into a non-filter pipe. Many colorful and various options, and they'll cut any stem to a shorter length if you want it, or at least that was long their deal.
