My first pipe, 40 years ago, was a GBD and I've added a few since then. Here's my collection of GBDs and their seconds: Irwin and Digby, that I've acquired down through the years.

They're all fine burners but the big billiard in the center is an all time favorite.

Very nice. I have only one GBD myself. With the help of Al, I am in the market for another. It will take some time to find the right pre-Cadogan though.

Very nice! On Ebay, a nice 9438 Granitan went for $60 yesterday and a GBD meerschaum 9438 for $41....kicking myself for not bidding on it. A nice Virgin went for $15 while I was at the CORPS show listening one vendor tell me the tired one I pulled out of his tub was worth $60.......
There are a few 9438's on Ebay now.

I'd always read they were supposed to last a lifetime and then pass on to greedy relatives. These days I mostly buy estates so I profit from other greedy relatives.
