My first Pipe!

Alright! I went out today and got my first pipe. 15 dollars and It smokes nicely, doesnt burn hot. It is nice in my inexperienced opinion.Tell me what you think!

looks like a sanda with the metal bowl liner. I personally don't have one but i did 15 yrs ago. Um, i'll let someone else go ahead of me mate.

I had one, never liked it didn't smoke well at all. Now it holds a candle and it's just some junk to look at.

It made tobacco taste like paint on fire. Now I know someone will ask how long I have been smoking paint or how do I know what burning paint tastes like. :rofl:

Ace, my question is, What do you prefer to smoke your paint in and how difficult is the clean up?

nice shape but i think you will not be happy with it as you learn more about this hobby we call pipe smoking for the price of this pipe you could have gotten 2 cobs or one nice clay pipe or like Bob said an extra 10 bucks would have gotten ya a good Doc G

Well, smoke it and be content for the time being. At least it's a start.
But start saving your money to get something better. And keep reading the posts here. By the time you have enough to get a nicer pipe, you will have a better idea of what you want to get.
Be happy with what you have now. Then you will be amazed how much better it gets when you can afford it.

That looks a whole lot like my first pipe.

the good news is it will at least introduce you to pipe smoking and you can get a few semi-enjoyable smokes out of it.

the bad news is, it probably wont smoke all that well and wont last as long as other pipes.
my advice would be to keep buying and trying tobaccos in it while also saving your money up for something thats maybe a little bit nicer. i dont have a ton of money to spend myself, but i have gotten by on a few cobs and estate pipes that smoke great! keep up on the forum and enjoying what you have and be excited for what is to come.

Cody: don't let anyone discourage you.
Most of us would stay away from a pipe with a liner, except for meer-lined. But hey, you got what you got. Smoke it. I do have to agree it probably won't be the best in the world. But if you like it, that's all that matters. Try to save up $10 / week and buy yourself a cheap briar in a month. See the other thread for all the recommendations such as Dr.G, duca Carlo, fero, Viking, etc..

Looks like a Stanwell. All that matters though is if you like it. Start saving up for a higher quality pipe and in the meantime, do a lot of research as to what you might be interested in.

See how it smokes, maybe it will surprise you (and us). If it doesn't, it was an inexpensive lesson, don't let it ruin your pipe smoking experience.

I managed to pick up a couple kaywoodieesm estates a week or so ago, a friend helped me clean'em up & I lovem...think i gave around $10 each
