Is this here Peterson Premier...
petersonpremier.jpg

I read lots of good things on Peterson's on here so I took the plunge.
Don't know much about it the description was rather vague, so I'm looking to the resident Peterson experts here for some guidance.
The only info I gathered from the auction was the pipe is marked "Peterson Premier Selection"

The Premier series is a mid grade pipe. The briar is a better grade than the entry level pipes. It may have some minor external flaws and fills.

The model you have is an 02 shape that isn't made by Peterson any more. They are a fairly rare shape. They gave it up because drilling the smoke hole resulted in too many ruined bowls. The pipe originally came with an aluminim condenser that screwed into the tenon. Most people removed them and were none the worse for it. I will caution you about smoking that pipe to fast. There is a good chance it will gurgle unless it has a well in the mortice.

Good luck with it.

ChuckW,

Thanks for that info. I'm looking forward to getting the pipe, I ended up getting it and a unknown Dr. Grabow for $43 shipped.

Yea it certainly is, I didn't know how uncommon until I asked here. I saw it and it spoke to me. Unclearthur if for some reason I ever decide to get rid of it, you'll get first crack at it.

You're quite welcome... after all you were a worthy adversary in the bidding.
I had mentioned earlier I also picked up another estate purchase from the same seller.
Being an unknown and unmarked, I researched the marking on the stem and came to the conclusion it was some sort of Dr. Grabow.
Here it is.

The logo is definitely a Dr Grabow. I like using this website HERE to check any logo that I haven't come across before. Sometimes they aren't there, but it's a good starting point.

And as for the Pete.... I'm jealous. Lovely pipe.

That's the site I used to figure it out.
Thanks. I can't wait to get it and get it cleaned up.
