… and I’m pret-ty, pret-ty, pretty happy. It was a Christmas gift from my wife, who picked it out. I’m typically not a big fan of bling/chrome, but I really like this lighter. It feels solid in the hand and easy to use, although I fumbled w/the counter clockwise striking a few times. I’ve only had Zippos, which have been bullet proof, but this is a nice upgrade.

Awesome lighter; great gift. I love mine. Question: counter clockwise? Mine only sparks going clockwise. Maybe it’s whichever way the flint gets worn? I never read the instructions so maybe I’ve been doing it incorrectly?

Thanks, and you are correct. It is clockwise, but it seemed counterintuitive to me at first. Maybe because I’m left handed?

Oh, well thank you for confirming. I guess holding it in the left hand would make it seem more natural going counter clockwise. Enjoy it!

Whichever way throws the sparks towards the nozzle. The lighters seem to be designed for right handers.

Nice lighter! I just ordered one when the 4th generation model managed to be the same price I was going to spend on the Kiribi I had my eye on. A bit of branding for a discount is just fine by me. I hope I like mine as well as you like yours.

I love my Old Boy lighter. I never should have sold my first one.

To put it into perspective, when I was in the bathroom yesterday, I heard my wife rummaging through my stuff. Then I heard my tobacco cabinet open and close. I just knew she took my Old Boy. I finished up and promptly looked in my cabinet, and yup it was gone. (All of my things have a place, and only when In use, aren't in those places.)

So panic mode ensued and I paced back and forth for about 7 minutes waiting for the wife to come back inside from her cigarette break. After hanging her coat she went into the living room. I took a bic lighter, and swapped it for my old boy inside her coat pocket. Only those who really know my wife, will understand why I panicked.

I really need to lock those cabinet doors.
