Went to The Danish Pipe Shop to buy some tobacco and fell in love with a Stanwell Estate.

It have no schrathes, toothmarks or fillings - it's in absolutely perfect condition and it smokes like a dream 😁

According to The Danish Pipe Shop it should be from about 1970 and it is (of course) made in Denmark.
The only stamp (on the bamboo) says STANWELL.

Anyone have more information about this pipe?

Not really, only that you purchased a wonderful bamboo Stanwell.
Congrats; you cannot go wrong with a Stanwell, I love mine to bits.
Wonderful people from the shop too, visit them when I come to Gilleleje to see my brother.
What stamps on the stummel and is a regd. nr. stamped on it ?

Nice pipe. Never had a bad Stanwell, except one, a beautiful Rook, a ringblast freehand that was one of my best smoking pipes. Unfortunately, it developed a hole in the bowl after about 20 years.

Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your Rook!
Hope not, that it happens with mine 😉

It obviously had a soft spot which was likely caused by the sandblasting, I suspect. I had about 20 years of enjoyment before the hole opened up though. I have had other Stanwells that long without any problem so you should be fine.

I have a few Stanwells in my cabinet and I have never had any problems with them - so I'm not worried 😉

That's a really handsome pipe, with the bamboo well integrated into the design. All my Stanwells are Italian--made, but the quality and classic designs are maintained.
