This is my first estate pipe http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271000254796?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1063 (scroll down the page) it cost about $13.00 and I would like to know about cleaning, I've read somewhere about a salt mix that cleans and refreshes it, but has anyone got advice on how to get a real good clean as I am fussy with stuff that's used

That is a wonderful simple explanation of the art of pipe cleaning, The secrets out now so I may look at other estate pipes if this one cleans up well

From what I see that pipe doesn't need much. No cake to speak of,stinger looks clean. Looks like it just needs a little shining and a light basic cleaning. I wouldn't do the salt/cottonball alcohol treatment unless you find it to be ghosted badly when you first smoke it.

I bought another that needs a little more work http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200777837268?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1063 scroll down page...it was only about $3 so maybe things on this side of the pond are better with estate pipes
