Recently I restored a Winslow E Extra XXL pipe and I just completely fell in love with it!

The briar quality was amazing and the whole design just clicked with me. Like most of the more expensive pipes I get , I had to sell it just to keep the wheel rolling and make a living. Even though the size meant that I will not be smoking this pipe more than once or twice a month, I still regret selling it to this day… I need to work on this issue of mine - I refuse to collect pipes that will not be used, it feels similar to having a bird as a pet - you could give it all the love and care in the world, but by doing so you are robbing it of its life essence and purpose. This is almost criminal in my mind.
Ever since I sold it I have been looking into buying a Winslow pipe for my self, but although all of them I find really beautiful, not a single one clicked with me like the big one and also most of them were out of my price range …
Until a couple days ago, an auction popped up with an Winslow E pipe that looked extremely similar to mine and it wasn’t the xxl, although I couldn’t tell how big it was on the photos.IMG_4467.jpeg
Looking at it I actually like the design way more than the xxl, to be honest.

Now the pipe has a very big issue, too big of an issue for 99% of people. Even though I know I have to stop paying money for pipes in this condition, I just couldn’t resist the challenge and the opportunity to learn something new.

Here is the problem:

Right now I am trying devise a feasible attack plan and I just wanted to know if you guys are interested in another 100+ photo restoration post? If you want I will make it and post it no matter the results, even if I fail…

I'd like to see your attempt. That hole is magnificent.
