I've heard about Murray's before, mostly about them making Dunhill blends a few years ago. Apparently they went out of business in 2005. Here's a Wikipedia page about the company: Murray, Sons and Company - Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murray,_Sons_and_Company

In 2019 I discovered Murray's 1921 Cunningham, a VaPer with rum topping. I liked it but when I tried to buy more they were sold out. I recently found a couple of tins.

So my question is who was making Murray's in 2019, and are they still making it? According to Pipes and Cigars, the blend is no longer available. However Tobacco Reviews has the Murray blends listed as still available. The tin label is marked M & D Wholesale Distributors, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. But they are just a distributor.

Was this just a limited run? Will they (and who is "they") make more?

A sad day when Belfast lost it's Tobacco production. A venerable tradition gone.

My tins of Murray's 1921 Cunningham and 1810 Belfast say "Made in the USA by Scandinavian Tobacco Group" I'm assuming it's made in Denmark and packaged in the US.
I'm about 95% sure it's Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, possibly with some additional rum topping, but that could just be the difference of being vacuum sealed for a while. If you haven't tried LNF, I'd highly recommend it. After a few months in a jar, I find it to be indistinguishable from Cunningham.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
