I am most definitely not a used to having a pipe hanging of my mouth. I love holding a pipe in my hand. As such, my meager pipe collection consists of straight stems or stems with very little bend in them. Even when I try to smoke the pipe in my mouth for any length of time, my jaw gets tired. I said all this to get a some suggestions for a good mouth hanger that won't break the bank, as I am not sure I will love it. Want to keep it under $100, preferably in the $50-75 range.

Brigham bent. Works for me anyway mate. Good Brig will run you about $60.00-80.00
Seconded. Also, I never clenched a pipe until I started using the softy bits. They're not for everyone, but I'd recommend ordering a couple on your next TAD or PAD order to try them out.

This is why all my clenching pipes are corn cobs, very lightweight, bent pretty well, and the stems are ultra soft because they are a cheaper plastic (but cost only 50 cents to replace). I'd recomend a Country Gentleman, runs like $6. They also have the best draw ever, which is far superior to briars.

I am sorry, I cannot help you with this one.
But when I read your first sentence, I read your entire question in an Italian accent!

I'll second on the cobs for good clenchers...though I like the bent stem patriot or spool over the legends thats just an asthetic thing...or if your looking for the more sophisticated briar look I like my doc grabow savoy (super cheap twenty seven bucks or so...and my H.I.S. in the same style I haven't found an online order for the H.I.S. but apparantly their made by gardesana and cup o joes has Gardesana Sandblast Lucite Pipe #05

good luck finding a clencher you like, nothing like driving down the interstate with a good pipe and some nice baccy hanging out the side of your jaw

Eric, isn't that last sentence a bit of a broad stroke?

Eric, will you ever qualify your best draw ever and say that " To Me" they have the best draw ever? You keep making that statement like it is fact, it is not fact it is your opinion. The guy is looking for suggestions on a briar pipe in the 50-75 dollar range. He did not ask for a cob.
Here are a few briar pipes in your price range. I think they will be very comfortable for you.

It's true dp was asking for a $50+ pipe, but in this case, I think Eric was justified in making the suggestion.
The draw in cobs is not superior to briars, it all depends on the pipe; but they are very lightweight and they won't break the bank. They could be the solution dp is looking for.

Boswell makes fantastic bents/shotshells are great lightweight jaw-

hangers...but you are looking at the $95-$100 price tag on those...

but worth every penny...if you can get them (they sell-out fast)

Peterson 303FT with a softy bit, or in my case heat shrink tubing. Wonderful pipe.

If I were you I would try and find a good B and M and find a light pipe. Maybe something with a vulcanite stem as well. I am not a clencher though so maybe get other advice lol.

A Peterson XL315 is my current favorite. This thing just floats in midair.
What about a nice bent bulldog? I know it's not a sharp bend but mine clenches effortlessly.
