Maryland is effectively done. It is a socialist experiment gone wrong. Don't let this stuff happen to where you live or you will be like me and many others left wondering how we, as pipe smokers, will be able to enjoy our favorite past-time.
I am hoping that through court challenges that what Maryland is doing will be declared massively unconstitutional. How can any state play babysitter to what people order through the internet? Doesn't this violate the Commerce Clause? I will gladly donate what I can to causes that infringe upon my liberties.

Port Coquitlam, B.C.
We've a similar ban in effect here in Vancouver, B.C.; fortunately, it goes (mostly) unenforced outside of the tourist traps in the city center.

Can't help but feel for those in Maryland though - just goes to prove it never rains, it pours.
Does anyone else find it odd that Raleigh, N.C., a city named after the father of the modern smoker, and (like Maryland) known for it's production of fine tobaccos, would be paving the way for the anti's?
Edit: Hey, neat, my 100th post!

'officials decided to create designated smoking stations as an “educational step” for smokers.'
That just makes me angry, its like calling all smokers stupid and they are going to educate us.....

who is realy behind the anti's ? reminds me of a friend that was a picket line crasher. the company that the union was picketing would hire him and a few more to crash the line and go into the factory like they were going to work, he had alot of tales about that job good and bad.

Maybe it is just me being from Pennsylvania, but I think there are better beach towns in New Jersey than Ocean City MD. I'd go to Cape May or Wildwood NJ quicker than the extra miles to MD. The antis are getting out of hand.

One of my favourite pubs, J Malones, allowed smoking on the patio up until 4 months ago when they finally got fined!
Gratz on 100 posts by the way!

As long as the doors are closed, you can still smoke on the patio at the Cedar Cottage (Clarke and Kingsway) - the Vancouver Pipe Club meets there too.
Holy awesome, I'm going to look into membership right now!

Maryland, huh? Isn't that the state that recently raised the income tax on their wealthy figuring to raise millions more in tax revenue but were shocked when gross tax receipts fell drastically? There is little hope for that sort of distorted logic. Of course the wealthy could afford to quit the state altogether rather than get shafted.

This is just a symptom of the same disease.

I hope the "wealthy" leave the state just as they did in New Jersey and New York so Maryland can go into full depression mode. Then the nazi-left will have no more scapegoats for their failed utopia. I will cherish and savor every minute of it.
