One of my favourite pubs, J Malones, allowed smoking on the patio up until 4 months ago when they finally got fined! We've a similar ban in effect here in Vancouver, B.C.; fortunately, it goes (mostly) unenforced outside of the tourist traps in the city center.
Can't help but feel for those in Maryland though - just goes to prove it never rains, it pours.
Does anyone else find it odd that Raleigh, N.C., a city named after the father of the modern smoker, and (like Maryland) known for it's production of fine tobaccos, would be paving the way for the anti's?
Edit: Hey, neat, my 100th post!
Holy awesome, I'm going to look into membership right now!As long as the doors are closed, you can still smoke on the patio at the Cedar Cottage (Clarke and Kingsway) - the Vancouver Pipe Club meets there too.
