Congrats to CanadianBigGame on his bull elk and bull moose, which inspired me to post my moose, a button bull I took on a cow tag Saturday evening. I had the great fortune of shooting him on flat ground only 150 yards from the truck. Let's see those photos guys, be it a doe or a spike or a Booner, they're all fun to see.

Colorado high country. Snowed all day Friday and Saturday morning, had about 8".

My friends dad got a small doe last night, he hit it right by the spine, but I guess he must have been off by a bit, because it kept going. He had to wrestle it to the ground and finish it with a knife.

A friend of mine hunts, and I always get a nice selection of moose and deer meat for the freezer, love it.

About 60% of hanging weight (skinned). So a 200# moose would yield about 120# of meat.

Holy cow Dave, that's a beauty. Alaskan moose are way bigger than the Shiras we have here in Colorado.Someone told me the formula was roughly 1/3 of the weight on the hoof for a boned out animal. So a 600 pound moose would yield about 200 pounds of meat. Here's my Colorado Booner from about 10 years ago. Got him with a muzzleloader. Sorry about the quality, it's from a scan of a photo.
