Anyone have any experience with using molasses as a casing for pipe tobacco? What procedures can you suggest for casing a tobacco with a molasses solution before pressing it?
What quantity of molasses to distilled water (if used) to tobacco can you suggest?
Before being pressed, do you recommend I let the tobacco fully absorb the molasses solution?

I've done it with plain white burley before. I don't recall the proportions, but I did thin the molasses with a little (tap) water. I also gently steamed the cased tobacco (wrapped, in the toaster oven, c. 200 degrees) for about two hours before letting it set for a couple of weeks.
I liked honey better, actually. It doesn't make the tobacco overly sweet, but it does add lots of flavor.
I haven't used either in a long time, but I might try it again sometime.

molasses is one of the main ingredients in Shisha. Its flavor might be good but I would be worried about the extra moisture it would deliver. I like things a little on the dry side so as to keep tongue bite away. Personal preference is all.

As soon as I read your post I thought of Pitchfork. I remember his tutorial from a few years ago but never did get around to casing my own.
