Just Purchased my first brand new corn cob.
Hope it's smokes as good as peeps say they smoke. If so, looks like i will be filling up a new pipe rack with them.

MM cobs tend to burn all the tobacco to ash with good flavor all the way down. I tend to favor the ones that come with an acrylic stem instead of having to replace the softer plastic ones, but either smokes fine. You can't go wrong. I don't relate to the idea that they are too down home, or whatever. I'd smoke one in a tux at a wedding reception, if smoking were permitted. Even though I have a number of what could pass as "dress" pipes.

I think none pipe smokers think this is the norm for when thinking of a corn cob smoker
Not that this is bad in anyway just a stereotype.

But for me i hope i end up like this character, oozing character

Best combo ever. I have been reluctant to drop lots of money on pipes just because I always come back to a cob pipe and a nail tool.

I am not as big a fan of cobs as some are, but they are usually decent smokers.

I’ve got a basket of MMs that I use for aromatics. When used with a balsa filter they absorb most of the extra moisture and let me enjoy aros without gurgle or tongue bite.

Cobs smoke very nice and will last a long time, perhaps forever, if taken care of properly.

Cobs smoke as well as any briar. It’s not for no reason they make thousands of them a month.

I don't want to guess if it does or not, but if it doesn't have a hardwood plug in it, be careful not to smoke too many bowls back to back in it before letting it dry out. The bottom of the bowl will become soggy and fall out.

MM cobs are the benchmark for cob pipes. Take that any way you'd like, but my MM hardwood is a solid pipe.
