mint flavor?

anyone ever try it? i bought a bag of criss-cross mint blend (yes, the cheap stuff) just to bum around with and have while i drive. i was thinking it was going to be a hint of mint, but it's more like smoking with gum in your mouth. i'm on my third bowl and i still can't decide if i like it...

I was gifted a sample of Altadis Frosty Mint and I too was shocked at how menthol it was. Dunno if I could smoke a full bowl of it by itself, but if you blend 10% or so with a bowl of Lane 1Q or some other chocolate chip cookie tasting aromatic it is very very good. It is like smoking an Andes French mint or something.

Thats interesting that you bring this up, becuase i was driving the other day and thought about mint tobacco. I completely forgot until now, i was wondering if they made it. I was worried that it would be more of a 'menthol' flavor, rather than a more milder mint tobacco. Anyways, definately like to try this stuff myself. So write up a review! ::

I gave up chewing mint gum when I took to pipes.I don't know if there's any mint flavored pipe tobacco.I think some roll your own is menthol flavored.I've never tried it so I cant say what it's like.I usualy don't like anything menthol though.

McClelland's Captain Cool is a very nice mint and vanilla aromatic. I enjoy it occasionally, especially in the summer with a glass of iced tea.

Years ago there was a blend called Greenbrier which was a menthol pipe tobacco. Nor very good but a cool tin.

Huh, menthol pipe tobacco may be what it takes to get my sister off of Newports since Obama went and outlawed all flavored cigarettes. Now they don't even have the hint of menthol - it's all fiberglass and nastiness.
That may be an idea I need to consider...

Menthols started giving me a headaches when I smoked cigs. I'll pass but if it hooks others into pipes congrats. The more in this hobby the better. Cyndi the comment about Newports reminded me I used to smoke Kools just so my roomie wouldn't bum cigs.

it was a cheap bag, $8 for 6oz, like i said, i got it as a brute bag just to smoke while driving

as for a full review, i'm going to hold off for now as i have only been smoking a week (took to it like a duck to water though) and between a dirt cheap pipe and finding some pretty nasty drugstore blends, my taste is just coming back

i can see how some it would a love it or hate it, but for me i just kind of look at and think "wth am i smoking?"

it's definitely menthol though, i took a whiff of the bag and it wasn't that strong, but first puff and your mouth tingles.

the place i go to has a small pipe section with a good few drugstore blends, and they have a wall of larger bags, all pipe (or SAY pipe), and there are probably 4-5 different mint makers

Maybe I am stuck in a rut, but I do not smoke any flavored tobacco! I smoked Middleton's Cherry Blend for about 35 years and since I discovered real tobacco I have never gone back to the flavored stuff.

I bought a bag of Criss Cross Vanilla last night for a "cheap" baccy. That is exactly what I got "cheap". Worst baccy I have smoked through a pipe or by any other means of ingestion of tobacco. Lesson learned (I hope).
