I commissioned Michael way back in September for this pipe and I finally received it this week. I had heard so much about him and his work and this was to be my birthday present, although slightly late LOL. I had asked him to model it after Peck's pipe, but I wanted a thinner stem.
Well worth the wait.

And then, his description of the piece:
SB LC

Black ebonite taper stem.

Length - 6 1/2"

Bowl Height - 2 5/16"

Bowl Width - 1 9/16"

Shank Diameter (At Stem) - 9/16"

Chamber - 3/4"

Weight - 58g
**And please note that the bit is thin top to bottom. The lower angle of the photo (matching the bowl top) creates something of an illusion making it look thicker, also the shape requires some extra thickness on the top of the stem say at an inch in front of the button to enhance the swan-neck curve of the stem.

The stem is less than 4mm top to bottom right before the button.

That is one beautiful pipe Allan. Mr. Parks is indeed a phenomenal artisan. It looks like it was well worth the wait.

Just stand it front of your store and hold it. Passerbys will want to do business with you for sure!

It amazes me how an artist can take what looks like a piece of scrap wood and turn it into something so beautiful. I hope it is a fantastic smoker for you.

Hold or Smoke? - go with both!
I love that shape, it's so completely British and a terrific design. Cooke gets all the acclimation for his blasts, but I don't know if Parks work isn't more pleasing. I love the thin, polished/beveled rim treatment which compliments the stem junction.

To all of you fine gentlemen, thank you very much
There is something about the feel of this pipe, I'm not quite sure what it is exactly. The shape of the bowl ( it's quite tall compared to other bent billiards I've owned), or maybe it's the rustication
Don't know, but it sure feels great in the hand
Tomorrow I'm going to break it in with some Pelican

That is an elegant pipe. I love the blast on it. I also like the little bit of red where the stem meets the shank.

Absolutely gorgeous pipe, I've heard great things about his work, and it's very evident from the pictures, here. Something about a deeply blasted bent billiard seems so classic yet modern and I have to say it's really stunning.

It's really cool how you have the "birth" of the pipe all the way to fruition in photos, and now the final product. Nice pipe!
