I earlier made a posting about a "Macomb Pipe Club." Perhaps I should have said "Metro-Detroit"? Anyone in the Detroit area interested?

There is the North Oakland Tobacco and Pipe Club. I have never attended because it meets on the first Thursday of the month, and I have a long-standing Thursday commitment.
There's also Arrowhead Pipe Club, which is in Flint, and meets the first Tuesday of the month.
All that being said - I would be glad to get together with other pipers if it happened at a convenient time. There was once a Yahoo group of Michigan pipe smokers; we had FtF meetings twice, on a Saturday, for lunch and a trip to a pipe shop. We met in East Lansing once and went to Campbell's, and in Flint once for a trip to Paul's.

Thanks for the info, Jud. I had no idea about this club. I won't complain that the North Oakland club meets in the middle of Wayne County, as I'm about halfway between the two.

North Oakland used to meet in Oakland County - I think they were at the Royal Canadian Legion in Royal Oak.

I too am in Macomb, a bit away from Oakland County, but I can go as far as Rochester, Birmingham, or Bloomfield Hills. In fact, every few years I go to the Manresa Jesuit retreat house in Bloomfield Hills. Can any of you other gentlemen meet in these areas, or closer to Macomb County? And Jud, are you interested in a meeting? Your post doesn't indicate. If we can get a few more, maybe we can make this happen. Dave, you are very generous: I would think we would all pitch in if you want to be host. I personally think that would be an ideal setup, if it works with the rest of you.

Oops, Jud, my mistake, you did indicate interest in an earlier post. I would think we can arrange a time to allow you your commitments on Thursdays. We can work out days when others express interest and deal with distance problems. Stoney Creek is a bit far for me, Dave, unfortunately. In fact, I've only been there once, on a school trip in elementary school over 45 years ago.

Sure, I'll go for it. I'm flexible. I'm in the city, by Harper Woods. If Dave wants to host I'd be more than willing to kick in for something. We can all bring a tin of something to put out for common smoking. It would be fun. :)

I'm in Ferndale, but would be willing to go as far Stoney Creek if my very unpredictable schedule allows.

Duckfat, I'd have to get a chicken lunch at Zehnder's. Or if I felt like abusing my system a BLT at John's in Birch Run. As far as Paul's, that has to be one of the top pipe shops in the US. Enjoy your trip, when I come home to visit (no time soon) I'll check to see if you guys are getting together.
