Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hi All,
Rhona and I are down at our caravan on the Northumberland coast, she's got a joint of beef and a ham roasting in the oven for tomorrow, the Central Heating is performing admirably and we're warm, comfortable, have been spared for another year and have eachother so things can't be bad. The Christmas decorations are up, the Christmas tree's lit and there are even some presents below it.
We did think we might get a White Christmas for the snow was lying thick outside until this morning but it's just come on pouring rain - annoying as I spent most of yesterday chipping the inch of ice of of our deck - which'll put the fireworks display at the harbour tonight in jeopardy if it continues but we'll still be in the Olde Ship with our friends this evening.
And talking of friends - we'll raise a glass to you all tonight and hope you all have a Merry Christmas and some loved ones to share it with - as the Auld Scots Toast goes, "Here's Tae Us, Wha's Like Us, Darned Few An' They're A' Died!

I'm a new member and would like to thank everyone for all the advice as I am also a new pipe smoker. All I can think about is saving up for "Bings Favorite Savinelli."

I guess I have the bug because pipes are on my mind !!

Last Christmas I was having Chemotherapy treatments. So, this is my best Christmas ever. God bless.

Hope all's going well and you're now fixed - have an idea how you feel, this time last year we'd the forerunner of Swine Flu which antibiotics couldn't fix and we were waiting anxiously for Rhona to be called in to hospital to have the skin cancer she'd developed treated. Not a good winter last year on any front.
