I am very fond of classically shaped, straight pipes and as much as I enjoy my cobs for their utilitarian traits, I would like to take the plunge into the world of meerschaum pipes. As I’ve been researching meerschaum pipes I’ve concluded that I should probably look to get a push pull stem but I am having trouble finding the right pipe for me. I like the .7-.75 chamber diameter and the 1.3-1.5 chamber depth ranges respectively. For some reason it appears as though all of the nicer, push-pull stem billiard meerschaum pipes either have a much bigger chamber size than I would like, or they are my preferred chamber size, but they have a screw in stem. Am I overthinking the push-pull vs screw in? I’ve also read that the screw ins have a tighter draw and I like a more open draw. This is going to be a work-horse pipe for me seeing almost daily use which is why I’m being so particular in my selection. Any advice would be appreciated.
