Meerschaum Pipe question

The new Meerschaum pipe I was smoking this weekend, has a reddish color dot on the bowel in addition to the coloration from handling the pipe I lit the pipe with matches but also with a lighter a little since I was outside, is that normal is there a way to remove the redness. Love the way meerschaums smoke, but new to them in general.

I'm not too sure about discoloration before it's been smoked.
But; give this a read, it may help with your understanding of your meerschaum....
