Meer Stems

I've noticed in lurking on a few websites that some stems for the meers are polyster and some are acrylic. Which would hold up longer? I imagine the acrylic would but I like the looks of the polyster better.

You know, thats one thing I've never liked about meerschaums. I have a really nice Yanik here I plan to put an ebonite stem on.

The one I just ordered from storient has a cumberland ebonite stem. I don't know if the plolyester stems are popular or not.
