Absolutely, jump in feet first and you won't be disappointed with either the 3 Oaks Original (my favorite) or the 3 Oaks Syrian.

Great stuff

The moment I see Syrian, I have to look at any tin.
That said, 3 Oaks and 3 Oaks Syrian are on my wishlist. I've just got save some more.

Sooooo, what's it like? I'm reading all these accolades but no descriptive qualities. Ramp up the verbosity gentlemen!

Working on it...still only seven bowls into a tin though, like to get to at least ten before I consider reviewing a blend! But...in a nutshell...
Tin note is amazing, no ketchup, but rather fruits and cider with an underlying smokyness.

Flavour, while underpinned by a savory smokyness, highlights the sweetness of the McClellands Va leaf, with the underlying herbal notes of the Oriental leaf coming through. As the bowl progresses, the perfumey Syrian Lat takes on a flavour not unlike tea-leaves.

All in all, tasty stuff - very complex and subtle blend.
How's that for a ten-second blurb?

Opened a tin of Original 3 Oaks from 1994 that I had cellared. Sugar crystals covering the virginias and the nice musty smell of latakia. Wonderful blend.

This blend is amazing. The Syrian latakia is WAY more mellow than its Cyprian cousin. It's like drinking Canadian whisky(think Yukon Jack), then drinking Gentleman Jack which very smooth and not harsh at all.
I'll have to get several more tins of this for the future. Unbelievably good.

I found the 3 Oaks Syrian at my local B&M, Strauss Tobacconists here in Cincinnati, today. I'm smoking it right now, and all I can say is WOW!! This is some very luscious and mellow latakia. I could smoke this stuff all day. My TAD is going to get out of control at this rate....
Cheers,
Craig
