Very nice English. This has the usual fermented flavor of many McC's blends and I think it makes this mixture quite distinct and charming. This is more of a VA forward, sweetish blend with the Latakia and Orientals playing as pals in yonder sandbox waiting for occasional introductions. This takes to flame well but needed a few relight...a little extra drying time would remedy this easily. The price is exceptional and this can be found most anywhere they sell fine baccy. A great staple is this mellow, medium English...moderate amount of smoke and full in body.

Thanks for this review, I have a about a half pound of this I'd ordered as it was the first blend I ever smoked and loved it. I then ordered the half pound and found it to be nothing like I remembered. The B&M I'd gotten it from when I first tried it sometimes will take tins that aren't selling and open them and put them into bulk jars, so I'd thought maybe it was one of the different frog mortons I'd tried. After reading this review I decided to try it again in a different pipe, my Ben Wade Danish Pride freehand with a really wide pot. I'm getting those flavors I remembered, whereas the other pipes I'd tried it in it was very monotone and nothing like the reviews I'd read before I ordered it. I'm now enjoying it and am glad as I thought I had a half pound of tobacco I didn't really care for. Truly a testament to how different pipes really bring out different flavors. The pipe I'd first smoked it in has now become a VaPer pipe so the perique really ghosted everything I smoked in it after.

This sounds like one of those wallflower English blends that deserves more attention. I recently discovered

C&D Stratfordshire, which doesn't get much attention but offers a lot. English blends really cover a wide

range of experiences.
