Match RQ-3, made by Sutliff, is described as "a replacement for a recently discontinued aromatic blend. It's made with mellow Burley and smooth black Cavendish."
I can't find anything on tobacco reviews. I'm by no means a tobacco expert. My question is: what is this a match to? Was there a blend called RQ-3 that went away? Or is this replacing something else with a different name? I cannot find anything on the internet.
I'm familiar with several Match blends. RL-BD is Barking Dog; I can recommend it and it's in my rotation. Revelation is as well (sometimes I add a little Perique to it). I've tried many more in an attempt to recreate what it was like to smoke blends from decades ago.
I hate mysteries. I do love solving a mystery. Please tell me what RQ-3 is a match to, or was there a tobacco called RQ-3 that I simply never heard of and can't find an information regarding it?
addendum: It struck me as I was typing this sounded like a Lane name. There's a Lane RHQ-3. Perhaps that is it?
