Yes, those should do nicely. I personally don't notice a difference between Ball and Kerr brand, although I have almost exclusively the former (that's chiefly due to what's available here in the boonies north of LA), which I did coincidentally purchase at Ace Hardware.

Just make sure that you can get replacement lids that will fit right. Save for the wide-mouth jars, I do believe they are universal, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Not that the lids will necessarily wear out, but once you use one to jar an aromatic, for example, you won't want to use it later for a non-aro. Just my two cents.

Jar away!

It's funny.
I had these and To be honest i thought hadn't even heard of "PUR" brand mason jars until i found them in the pantry.....i don't even remember buying these.

But I'm glad they will work because getting Ball or Kerr is damn near impossible right now where i'm at.

Thanks for the tip on the lid's. didn't even think of that

Since the jars never have to go through any pressure canning, nor does the tobacco ever build up any real pressures in aging, if I had to start over again, I'd buy bulk commercial jars at a fraction of the price of Mason products. Also, the single piece lids are way better at doing what we need it to do for tobaccos.

People who sell canned goods at farmer's markets use these also. They will handle the pressure of canning, but even so, for tobaccos it is overkill.
Name brand jars aren't completely necessary.
