Maryland B&M

I will be going to Gambrills, MD for the week of Thanksgiving to visit my daughter and my new granddaughter (due on the seventh of November). I was wondering if anyone could recommend a local B&M in the area.

In that area, not much, but in nearby Baltimore or Annapolis you have two great choices:

Faders, the Towson location would be the closest.

I know the area pretty well, pipe-wise, those are your only two choices. If you want to travel a bit further up 95, Main Street Cigar in Bel Air has a lot of tins (I haven't been there in a while).

When I was last at Main Street Cigar (maybe a year ago?), they moved across the street and no longer carried any tins. Fader's is probably the best of the bunch but our lovely Maryland taxes make any B&M uncompetitive. There are a number of cigar shops around and even Fader's has had to push in that direction.

Just go to Fader's, it's a 40 min drive from Gambrills, MD and a great place, very friendly like 90 different tobaccos to choose from, lots of cigars selections, and they have a smoking bar with bar stools and everything where you can smoke and chat with the people there. For $10 you can sample as many tobaccos as you want, so bring plenty of pipes

I was at Main St Cigar last week and they have a goodly variety of tins. Maybe when you visited them, they were still in the process of unpacking from the move.

Might have been.... it was within a few weeks of the move, so must have been the case. If I recall correctly, they used to have some open sample tins too. Is that still the case?

They had two locations, but think now it is only one. I never went to the "in town" location, but the one just outside of town, next to a Dunkin Donuts in a strip center. That place had a pool table and two large lounge areas. I used to know "Carl" a part time employee from vintage motorcycle rallies, but he left last year and I haven't been back. The last time I was in, they had hundreds of estate pipes stacked up on the pool table.
