I put together a schedule that will help me decided on what pipe i buy and when. First the rules to myself.
1) I must Follow This Schedule unless money is an issue.
2) If i buy a pipe I must love it not just buy for the sake of buying.
3) If I don't find a pipe for that month then i don't get one thats it.
OK so I am starting this most likely in January it will be a fresh start to my hobby.
Here is what i will look for and buy in each Month of the year. Some tie to a holiday or event others are just random you will most likely notice it while reading the schedule.
January - Freehand / Artisan / Commission ( New Year Fresh Gear  )
February - Zulu / Rhodesian
March - Dublin / Liverpool ( St. Patrick's Day hence Dublin)
April - Poker / Egg / Pot / Billiard / Cherrywood
May - Lovat / Calabash
June - Diplomat / Bulldog
July - Lumberman / Canadian ( Canada Day )
August - Anything my Birthyear / Pipers Choice (Its My Birthday Month)
September - Author / Oom Paul / Vest Pocket / Paneled / Acorn (Back to School)
October - Prince / Horn / Tankard
November - Cavalier / Cutty / Hawkbill / Tomahawk
December - Chimney / Church warden / Apple / Brandy
This is my list Should be fun to do. This will make me think more about what I am buying and ill be more focused while looking. If you have any suggestions for me or feel like you would like to try this feel free to list your schedule here too.
Reasons why i am doing this is because i have a tendency to speed up my hobbies and i get very carried away at times so i need to regulate myself or i would eventually crash and throw the hobby all together for many reasons. So slow and steady as they say.
Also, some of you may think that a pipe a month isn't slowing down, and you would be right but please refer to my rules above. what would be my chances in finding a Prince / Horn / Tankard in October that i really really love and absolutely must have, not impossible yes but not likely. I doubt ill find something every month thats the purpose and thats how this system works.
