Looks like the postal service left a package by my front door today! I am always buying estate pipes so this is the second new pipe I've ever owned. Savinelli Trevi 616KS. You cannot beat the prices of these. It's actually bigger than I thought it would be. I think I want more of this line. A straight billiard might be nice.

Great looking pipe! I'm surprised to see that the bowl is bare wood. I thought that model came with a pre-coated bowl.

Well, so much the better for you -- you can season the wood with the blend of your choice. I like that heavy shank and

Looking at a pipe online, it's difficult to tell the size, even with a ruler grid underneath it. Were you surprised by the size?

Thanks guys! I really like this pipe. I was surprised at it's size. I know Savinelli makes the 616 and 616KS. The KS stands for king size but when I opened the box I didn't know it stood for KINGGG SIZEE! I went ahead and loaded the bare wood bowl all the way full despite hearing a half bowl first when breaking in, etc. I smoked a bowlful of McClelland's Celebrated Sovereign. It lasted 1.5 hours or a little more.

That's a beauty! The Trevi is on my short list. When I stop buying Irish pipes, that will be my first Italian purchase. Enjoy it.
