That is spectacular! A unique and dramatic presentation of straight grain via the indentation and that transition!

Fluid, balanced, and pleasing to the eye. Nice job.

Unfortunatly the bird's eye is not so nice, as you can see.

Even the surface was pale in comparison with the sides' grain. I was tempted to rusticate it, but the result wouldnt'be as fluid. So I decided to lightly stain it to emphasize the grain and match the sides' colour.

Wonderful concept and creative idea! The wobbles in the lines throw it a bit off for me, but overall it is a very appealing shape with a very crisp flow. I love the stem through the rim idea. It does look like the base of the stem doesn't sit flush with the shank, but it could just be the angle of the photographs.Keep your creative ideas going! You are on to something with this shape!

Thank you gents for the names. I like all of them. Hawkeye is very original, the side of the pipe indeed reminds a bird of prey's eye.

I choose Nalu Nanu 'Ale: in these winter days it is cool to imagine the Hawaiian waves.
