Has anyone tried Mac Baren Honey & Chocolate or Mac Baren Cherry Ambrosia, the flavors sound tasty, please help!

Honey and Chocolate was one of the first tobaccos I bought. Only been smoking a pipe since Jan :puffy: Smooth smoke...I'm not a real chocolate fan I guess...Opening the tin is like unrapping a dark chocolate candy bar...Room note is okay, just not my thing...seemed to have a high nicotine content too...gave it to my son who really likes it.

Never tried either, but I am a fan of MacBarens "Symphony" and "Scottish" on occasion. Both of these tobaccos burn pretty hot (imo) and its easy to push them too far and light your tongue on fire. That seems to be the reputation most people hold of MacBaren tobaccos.

Maybe pick one of the two, and see if MacBaren blends agree with you before trying them both. Their tobacco is top notch stuff, some people just dont get along with them.

Sorry Hebel... I've not tried the two you mentioned, but I really enjoy their Vanilla Cream Flake when I'm in the mood for something a little sweet. :D

I am a big Mac B fan, and I this is tobacco in particular is in my pipe rack humidor right now. It's not my fav of the mac baren tins, but it's a good smoke. It reminds me of black and milds, and the room note is very similar. I also have an open tin of Vanilla Cream on hand here. The wife likes that one, as she smokes a pipe on occasion.

I may get a lot of disagreement on this around here but I highy recommend smoking honey and chocolate with a filter pipe. It can smoke a little on the wet side. I smoke smoke all mac baren tobacco in a filter pipe actually as I really detest wet smokes. If that wet stuff gets into my mouth it ruins the whole smoke for me, and mac b seems so good at it. They make great smoking tobaccos as long as you take your time. They are my second favorite tobacco company!

I too am a big MacBaron fan and I find them cool smoking and top notch. I find their aros to be a little too moist but a drying out period fixes this. The rest of their blend are good right from the tin. My favorite aro is the Vanilla Creme and I love their Solent Mixture a lot as well.

I haven't tried any yet but I am strongly considering HH Syrian Latakia, London Burley Blend, and Plumcake. A few of the others sound good, too.
Honey & Chocolate and Vanilla Cream were on my radar a while back but I've given up on full aromatics since then. Who knows, I may pick them up regardless some day! They sound top notch for their category.

I tried HOney adn Choclate and did not enjoy it, I was expecting a blend that would be sweet smoking and have a hint of choclate in the background of the taste. I also thought it might have a pleaseing room note. room note was ok but the flavour was not what I was hoping for, only smoked about 3 bowls and then lost the tin in a park, so didn't get to see how the tobacco evolved with time in the open tin. I would not buy another tin myself. hope that is of some help.

Honey and Chocolate is really good. I like it a lot. It smells just like chocolate which is amazing to me. it being a tobacco and all.

it is not sweet like 1Q. but a smooth and flavorful tobacco. its really nice with a glass of red wine.

Sounds like a tasty blend from Mac Baren. The Cherry Ambrosia was a little too less flavorful for me, and very light.

Try the "Plumcake" Navy Blend from Mac Baren, it's my current time favorite !! :worship:

Sounds delicious! Do you eat these wonderful flavors or do smoke them? And if you smoke these candy flavors, don't they gum up your pipes?

Of the MacBarens I like the Gold blend (after speed aging it) and the Vanilla Creme blend.

I've a couple tins of Honey & Chocolate, and it's quite good--well worth the money. The chocolate is very intense in the tin (jar), but is less saccharine while smoking. It does have a healthy nic content, and does smoke a tad wet; I too prefer filter pipes and have plenty of Medicos for this. I've also found it quite agreeable to blending (seems MacB tobaccos are good for this in general) with other aromatics for some home alchemy--paired it with some black cherry I had and it was like a black forest cake. Quite delightful.

Oh, and incidentally, woman love chocolate. Smoking this in public can make you feel like you're at a Tom Jones concert, and you're the one singing 'It's Not Unusual'.

I've never seen a tin of Honey and Chocolate in any B & M I've frequented, but if I did, I would pick it up. There's a decent video review of it on YouTube here:

The 7Seas Gold Blend is awesome! I love that blend!!! I make a Dunhill Blends order on Smokingpipes.com (London Mixture, Dunhill Standard and Deluxe Navy Rolls) and they send me a "free trial bag" of 7seas Gold Mac Baren with my order!!! I like it a lot!!
