I think perhaps they had been trying to give us best of both worlds;

shape and depth on chamber , which they do....but the shape is off

now because of it (perhaps giving it a bigger bowl overall, then it would have kept

the more traditional bulldog shape :)
I agree on liking the blast more than the shape :)

I love the shape through the stem and shank, the blast is incredible, but agree with you both that the bowl profile is less than attractive.

if you want a big bulldog bowl just ask Briar Bird. Look at this monster.

I don't really care if the shape is not an exact bulldog; I appreciate the extra room in the bowl and think pipe designers should take liberties with traditional shapes.

No the top doesn't come off. And it wasn't a stupid question.

I love everything about it but it's a bit on the large and heavy side for me. I really like their pipes and whoever does their sandblasting has a real talent. It's what attracted me to the one that I own.

Didn't get that one, my PAD beast was just "browsing" at the moment ;-)
I do like sandblasts, I have one; a Perry White Magnum-Dublin blast,

which is just an outstanding pipe...a monster at 4oz and and 1" diam bacci

chamber ;-)

That's a pretty nice Stacked Bulldog, very much an Italian Design. Ser Jacopo has been making that shape for years, and Luciano Pipes are a very reasonably priced series of smokers IMHO. Love the blast also. They sell out very quickly from what I've seen.
