Alright everyone, admit it, we have all lost items from our pockets. I lost a Victorinox Tinker that I had replaced the beat up black plastic with some walnut. Even reset the Victorinox shield in the wood. It decided it was time for it to find a new home Friday while at work. Carried that thing every day since I had found it on the ground at a previous job. I called the previous couple customers and asked them to watch out for it while they were out and about. That is probably the most expensive thing I have lost myself. Dad lost one of my Spyderco Delicas and it still hasn't resurfaced.

At the SHOT show this week I lost my little Moleskine book. I always have one of these with me and when each one fills up, I pull out a fresh one. Lots of stuff in it I hated to lose.
24 hours later - while still in Vegas - I get a call from the guy who found it and saw my name and number in the front. We met up and he returned it. I was SO pleased.
He said, "Gotta admit, I read through the book. Interesting." I told him no problem and was just glad to have it back.

My mind is like lightning, One flash and it's gone

Mine too. I have ADHD(I dont take meds since they made my heart race and gave me cold sweats) so I lose track of things easily. They usually turn up in an hour or so in the oddest of places. Sometimes it takes several days before they shows up, but they usually shows up. As to what I lose, I basically lose everything

Got a call later that night from one of the previous customers. He said he had gone out looking and didn't see it. I told him that he probably wouldn't in the dark as it has walnut handles and would blend in pretty well with the gravel/mulch in his yard. But, I told him, if it shows up, clean it up and hold onto it until his son is old enough to carry a pocket knife. Would make an excellent first knife for a young man. Has the phillips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew. I have a couple replacements here, but I just really liked that little Tinker.
Anyone have any 1" wide by 1/4" thick walnut scraps laying around? Maybe I'll do the same treatment to one of my others. Or better yet, any briar scraps those dimensions. Would go great with a nice briar pipe. Hmmmm......
