Ok, I received the vintage Lord Davenport briar that I purchased on ebay. Does anyone have any information on Lord Davenport pipes? I've looked and looked online but can't find any info.

This is a link to all I could find about them: http://pipedia.org/images/c/cb/Lord-Davenport.jpg

It seems they were based out of NYC in the '40's.

This is the Vintage Lord Davenport I got off eBay.

It is stamped "Lord Davenport" on the side.

And it is stamped "Imported Briar" on the bottom.

Compared to my Savinelli and Nording, it feels like an inexpensive drug store pipe, and that is probably right since I only paid $10.49 for it. But I have very little experience with pipes and just wondering... it doesn't really matter except if by some chance it is worth a lot more than I paid for it, I might be more careful when I smoke it. LOL

I haven't smoked it yet. Just got it yesterday and it had some un-identified gunk in the bowl that I cleaned with pipe sweetener. It looks to be un-smoked though. But there was some stain in the stem and bowl that I cleaned too. Even though it was described as un-smoked I suspect it is a lightly smoked pipe that someone refurbished. I might try it out next weekend.
