I'm looking to mix things up with a new blend, but not sure where to start. I am a big Latakia fan, and cut my teeth on Frog Morton (still a staple). I'm looking for something new to try, Latakia being a plus. If you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
thanks
Matt

I like " wilderness " by McClelland tobacco company. It is a Latakia I recently went camping and smoked some, and it was a perfect fit, it has a very earthy wholesome taste. The can says...It is a rich multilayered taste experience. The highest quality Syrian Latakia combines with small amounts of Cyprian to form the base for an exquisite array of rare and precious orientals-sweet Drama, exotic Yenidje, and more. Red Virginias compliment the blend adding sweetness, richness, strength, and creaminess...

Matt give Jack Peterson a call at Sterling Tobacco - he has a latakia blend that is scrumptous and it is called 1776 Tavern. The nice thing about it is he will send you a sample of the blend for free for a first time customer. His number is 800 891-7761 or 815 626-1706.

Good Golly, I think a lifetime could be spent exploring all the terriffic English (or if you prefer, latakia based) blends and there would still be some you missed.
Aside from the blends already mentioned, I'd suggest some Pipe Works & Wilke #400, 10, 78, 524 and 622. These pretty much run the strength/subtlety gamut, and are fine tobaccos.
The Ashton blends that McClelland reintroduced (Old Dog, etc.) are flat out great, and we are lucky to have them back.
GLP Odyssey, Lagonda and the aforementioned Westimster are rock solid, Hermit Tobaccos Ten Russians and Stimulus Package are crazy good as well.
JF Germain Special Latakia Flake is wonderful, but tough to get right now.
Okay, I'll stop now. Sorry to run on, but the possibilities are almost endless.

I just tried for the first time a "transitional" blend. Its Bosewell's Northwoods. Has a ton of great reviews.

I can see why Buckeye. Its my first try of an English. I am finding myself becoming a devotee of the Bosewell blends. Nothing has disappointed yet. Just ordered up 5 new flavors to try.

When I'm looking for a satisfying latakia smoke, I'll load some Commonwealth by Samuel Gawith, or some Old Ironsides, or some Bill Bailey's Balkan Blend, or some Margate. Those 4 blends never let me down.

Thank you all for the input! I think if I just make a list out of everything everyone's suggested so far and work my way down the line, I'll be set for awhile!
