I received a pipe from my parents a week or so ago and I've been trying to get more information on it. It's at least from the 60's/70's (maybe 79 since it has a 79 on it? But my mother remembers it from when she was littler and she was born in 64.)

Any information you guys can provide on this would go a long way for me. Thank you in advance!

The text on it reads:

"Made in London
England"

"79 Collectors"
"Series C"

"No 79"IMG_3162.jpegIMG_3160.jpegIMG_3200.jpegIMG_3201.jpegIMG_3159.jpeg

I have no idea other to say that I suspect the 79 is not the year but probably the model or shape number I'd guess. Google shows a few appearing on eBay from time to time but no other details. There is a Peterson shape 79 that is very similar but with a different finish and stem, mouthpiece etc. Perhaps, and a very long shot at that, these are reject Peterson briars resold with cheaper acrylic stems 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Hoping someone with more knowledge can help. Nice looking finish though and the stem/mouthpiece suit the finish. Clean it and enjoy it!
