Hi folks!

One of my friend will be visiting London this week and asking for help to find a good B&M there.

I myself never been there; so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

jpm', thanks; I too made a note. No London plans at present, but I'd hate to find myself in London town without the information. A favorite in London are the concerts at St. Martins in the Fields, which is actually a large church on Trafalgar Square with a candlelit cafeteria in the basement which is a good place to eat before the music, if the stars align. I got the concert info on a handbill on the street. The tickets were not expensive. Vivaldi! The British Museum and its reading room. I also climbed St. Paul's dome inside, all the way to the top, on a helical stairway freestanding in the dome the last forty feet or so. Great city, always something. The London Eye is the monster ferris wheel, quite a view if you can do heights inside a glass gondola. Also the War Rooms where Churchill commanded the war effort while the London Blitz rained down. Better stay longer....

I have recently retired but until Feb this year I lived in London. There are very few of the nooks and crannies I don't know. If you want any specific info, let me know. London really is one of the great cities of the world.

In the old Covent Garden (now a warren of shops) there's Seegar and Snuff. Worth a visit! But check that they are open unless you're in the area anyway.
Went looking for a photo of it, couldn't find, but here's a nostalgic look at John Marshall in his stall off St. James'. No longer is he there ,

You can always recommend that your friend go to some of the U.K. Online shops and have them send the tobacco to his hotel (warn the hotel that a parcel will be arriving). They have a much broader selection of Germain's.
