Great read. It was nice to wander with Fred on that path of reflection. Interestingly, I met Burl Ives in passing one time when I was going to Western Washington University in the early 90's. He lived in Anacortes and the parents of my then girlfriend lived there so we would often hang out, eat, do laundery, etc.
