Might Stick Around

Good day all.
So I was out walking the dogs on the beach after storms and high tides.
Casually minding my own business and what do I see? None other than a pipe stem peeping at me from two rocks.
Elation, I can finally add a third pipe to my rotation.

I approached said stem with all the stealth of primative man stalking a wild wooly mammoth.
Think a cross between David Attenbough and Lara Croft.
I reached the treasure, my ark of the covenant.

Slowly I reach a hand out, eager to snatch my prize while my brain tells me to breath and relax.
I have it in my grasp and slowly draw it from it's hiding place.
With delight and anticipation I looked down upon my spoils!

While not worth any money, still a extremely rare find. I can't even think how low the probability of finding anything pipe related on the beach would be.

Where else to find something pipe related than on the beach? Imagine all the sailors loosing their pipes on stormy seas.

We had a thread a while ago with paralles to this one.

A melted pipe stem in the rocks on a beach in France... I don't see disappointment; I see a great story in the making! You should put it in a prominent place in your house. When guests come over and ask about it you can pour them a glass of scotch, seat them in comfortable chairs and tell them the tale. A heroic captain who stayed at the wheel; fighting to keep the doomed vessel off of a lee shore while his crew and passengers struggled into the life boats. His only companion; his favorite pipe...
