Greetings everyone! I appreciate all the great information here and have finally decided to join you.

I’ve enjoyed pipes for 30 years. Was introduced in college by a dear and now deceased friend. I have 25 or so pipes, but inexplicably have waited too long to really explore the extensive array of tobaccos available to us.

Early on while exploring aromatics, I got trapped into smoking cavendish and never really extricated myself. Mostly it was because I simply enjoyed smoking pipes and didn’t care much what I smoked as long as I enjoyed it. That meant that I stopped exploring. (I’m sure my somewhat limited sense of smell and taste didn’t help.)

This weekend I hung out at the Chicago Pipe Show and, after exploring the tobacco table for a few bowls, decided to plunge in, learn more, and see just what all I’ve been missing these many years.

My likes are philosophy, theology, politics, guns and hard rock. I look forward to getting to know all of you a bit more.

We are going to get along just fine.... or not! We probably crossed paths at the show this weekend.

Let us know how your tobacco exploration goes, and your thoughts on neomodernism.
