Last Saturday I sent my Lionhead Meer, a very special pipe since my wife bought it for my birthday last year, out for repairs to MaryAnn Keller at American Smoking Pipe Repairs
The stinger tip had broken off, and subsequently the whole screw-in thing had broken off ( okay, I might have helped it a bit trying to open the airway ). Here's what it looked like before boxing off. I had rigged it together with a piece of tenon off a broken clay I had laying around.

In the mail today, exactly a week later, came the Lionhead. Mary Ann was able to replace the stinger and not redo the whole stem, since it was basically brand new.

The entire affair was $25 including the $6 something I paid for sending it out. The repair itself was $12 plus $6.50 shipping.
I just HAD to take it out for a smoke with some Erinmore Flake ( review pending once I smoke a couple more bowls of this stuff ). What a wonderful experience! The draw has improved and it doesn't smoke as wet and stuffy as it used to. It smokes almost like a Pete sans the P-lip :puffpipe: and very very cool
I am extremely pleased with her work, and very happy my Lion Meer is back!

Looks like she did a really nice job. It's good to know there are still quality people to fix our little incidents. Glad that it smokes well after repairs.

Thanks guys ! Now I'm going to smoke it for a week straight to make up for lost time :P

The stem and the top of the bowl pretty much darkened on their own. I rub it almost daily with a mixture of coconut lard and olive oil to keep it from drying up and looking like a chalk pipe ( very dry climate here in SE Alaska, the Anchorage area is technically a cold desert ). Seems to do the job
