Hi guys, I'm looking for suggestions for "light-latakia" blends. A favorite of mine so far is H&H Chestnut, similar but reportedly better than the old Walnut in some opinions.

I've tried Sail Aromatic, Early Morning Pipe, and Presbyterian, and all of their corresponding Match blends. Not enough latakia in those for me. Chestnut is closer to what I want.

I do like full Englishes, but usually prefer only to enjoy them on cool evenings when I'm in the mood for them. So I'm looking for more of an "all-day" smoke.

Got my eye on Iwan Ries' Ko-Ko blend. Their website says it has latakia, but all the reviews on Tobaccoreviews seem to disagree. Weird. Anyone had it?

Either non-aromatics or aros with a whiskey or mild anise topping are preferred.

Thanks!

SG Squadron Leader, Peter Stokkebye English Luxury, C&D Sea Dog, Sutliff medium English #502, and Grand Croupier Boneyard are some light to medium-ish English blends I enjoy.

I'll second Squadron Leader. Also, if you want a good American-English with both anise and rum, Sutliff Count Pulaski is a great choice.

It does compel me... to spend lots of money. First buying a bunch of single ounces of bulk and a ton of 4oz mason jars, then a veritable wall of cobs, and now I'm starting to fall down the briar 'rabbit hole'. Oh, when will it end?

If you are in America I'm not sure how easy it will be to obtain but Motzek's Herbst 84 is a nice easy Virginia-Oriental-Latakia blend suitable for all-day smoking.

Sutliff Count Pulaski, Sutliff Medium English, Sutliff Match Revelation, Sutliff Match Country Doctor, Wilke Royal Gentry Blend #2, Wilke Surbrug's Best Make, Wilke #24, Peretti 1072, Peretti D-9575, Peretti Blend W, and Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut.

Match Barking Dog has a fair amount of Latakia and is a medium smoke, but the burley and rum work well with it. Edward G, Robinson's Pipe Blend has one percent Latakia, but you may like it.

Btw, the Walnut Match is Chestnut.
