I re-watched "The Last Waltz" just a couple of weeks ago. The Band ranks as one of my top 5 favorite groups ever.
Levon's Influence on the last 45 years of American music cannot be overstated -- I'm sorry he's gone.

The Band took Dylan electric.

Not to dis The Band, but Dylan went electric before he got together with them. He used an electric band on one side of "Bringing It All Back Home",in March of 1965. He then played Newport Folk in July of 1965 with a pickup band, consisting primarily of members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. He then hired the Band to tour with him, starting that fall.
