...without even reading it.
Ah, one of the joys of posting in forums is that you can get stuff off your chest, and then hopefully feel better.
I don't want to be a big crybaby, wah, wah, wah, nobody appreciates all the hard work I do ... but ...
Here's the latest example of something that happens on a regular basis that drives me a little bit buggy.
I just posted up Adam's latest review; http://pipesmagazine.com/blog/pipe-tobacco-reviews/sutliff-private-stock-golden-age-tobacco-review/
When I put up new content, I then immediately post it here in the forums, and then on Facebook, and Twitter.
Those two mediums do in fact help drive some additional traffic to the site. (We still get waaay more traffic from Google, though.)
To cut to the chase, what drives me nuts is that I post the link in FB, and in 5 seconds people are clicking the "Like" link ... with it being obvious they didn't click-through and read the article in 5 seconds.... so how do they know they like it?
It is good to get a lot of "likes" because the more "Likes" an item gets, the more chances it will get bumped up on the ever-increasingly crapped up newsfeeds of what everyone had for breakfast, and who just arrived and left the gym, and whose pet has the sniffles.
However, it frustrates me that if you add up:
1. Adam's smoking time
2. Note taking
3. Writing the review
4. Editing the review
5. Photography
6. Photo-editing
7. Layout, HTML Coding, SEO, Publishing
That typically adds up to 10-15 , man-hours for an article that takes 5-10 minutes to read ... and people still can't be bothered to actually read it before clicking the "Like" button.
Btw, I had plain yogurt with fresh fruit mixed in, with a triple-latte and a Gurkha cigar for breakfast. (oh wait, I'm supposed to post that on FB.)
