I know what this string is all about...

But, I gotta throw this in.
I just heard the phrase referencing an obfuscation, evasion, or falsehood...
"He failed to reach the duty of candor."
Gotta love PC.

It's not the dumbass TSA betch doing his stupid job, it's the morons that wrote the crap to tell him to "CONFISCATE EVERY MOTHER EFFIN NAIL CLIPPER YOU FIND!"
They are seriously stupid. America is going in the shitter because we have the RIGHT to be stupid.

The TSA agents were probably determined to not let another incident like the Fort Hood massacre occur.

You probably remember, when U.S. Army major Nidal Malik Hasan, serving as a psychiatrist, reportedly

killed 13 people and wounded 29 others within the most populous U.S. military installation in the world.

Who'd a thunk it?
Better to do the job to the letter and piss off a lot of trustworthy soldiers, than to let things slide

and have to live with the consequences of letting just one treacherous soldier pass security.
My hat's off the both the soldiers and the TSA.

It just seems terribly dumb for someone to confiscate a pair of nail clippers from a guy who was taught to buttstroke someone to death with the weapon he happened to be carrying on to the plane. The TSA guy had no choice but to do his job and I agree that the idiocy comes from higher powers. Could get political if I go further, so I'm gonna leave it at funny story=dumbass rules.

I have had to deal with so much stupidity in my time in the service that I refuse to fly commercially. or go any where with high security. It always feels like a slap in the face especially when they talk down to you, even worse are lax in there duties and only doing there job half assed.

Agreed. and thank you for YOUR service, brother! There are times when I feel my small contribution is insignificant, but the day you signed your name in defense of the United States and its Constitution can only be understood by one who has done the same and for having the courage to do that, I feel blessed. For the people who fought and are still fighting now, I am grateful.

We have the same issues going through heliport security when flying out to the rigs. We can't bring lighters or pocket knives onto the choppers, even in our bags, but once we get to the rig, the rig supplies us with matches and "alternative cutting devices". We also have to have security questions on file, in case someone makes it out to the rig without an ID, but we can't get on the bird without two ID checks and a urine screen. And THAT is at Marsec level one, the lowest level. Common sense has no bearing on the rules!
