Yes I’m pretty sure it was restored at some point but by restored i mean 3 coats of paint over the old coats of paint and some new nuts and bolts that were a little too long but fit. That being said it works like a charm, no rust or squeaks from the spring and the blade is sharp. For like $88 it’s a win in my books.Wessex Gold Brick is a good choice to try it out on. Nice score. I had been looking at those, but was afraid it would become a huge restoration project that I don't have time to do. Nice to know that this one worked right off the bat.
Thanks, i don't really smoke any brick tobacco (I have about 10 cubes of the Wessex but never tried it but now that i can easily slice it I'm in like Flint!) Usually they are much more expensive and sometimes they are more expensive and a huge restoration project. That is pretty cool. Great find.
I've discovered i have a love for Wessex Gold Brick might have to look for some other plugs, i think i have some F&T Virginia Plug, might be cut plug though, I'll have to dig through the stacks.Great find - well done!
Good to know that it went to someone that will actually use instead of putting it on a shelf as a decoration!
Gold Brick is phenomenal tobacco. I was surprised that it got such mediocre reviews on TR.I've discovered i have a love for Wessex Gold Brick might have to look for some other plugs, i think i have some F&T Virginia Plug, might be cut plug though, I'll have to dig through the stacks.
I def needed one ready to go lolLove the cutter. I picked up a Rams Horn cutter and restored it. It was a bery time consuming project.
