I just bought a goodly amount of this blend, which I have not sampled before and have read it is a 'Lat Bomb'.
Now, I do like a good stout English or Oriental with a decent amount of that smokey weed.
So, what are some of the truly strong classic Lat Bombs and is Mountain Camp among that crowd? puffy

really it's great and got lat but bomb? I'd say it's light to mid maybe.

Old Ironsides, C&D Pirate Kake, Boswells Northwoods, Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding, as far as easier to find blends. Not sure how easy Old Ironsides is to find though. I should look, I could use another tin or two. Not everyone will maybe consider these all lat bombs. But all are smokey and delicious. But if you like latakia at all you will love all the mentioned blends. If you try Boswells Northwoods you can buy in bulk so just buy as many or few ounces that you want.

Byzantium is my favorite “lat bomb”
Engine 99 is an excellent Latakia heavy blend if not a true lat bomb
Ten Russians
Gaslight
Abingdon
These are excellent suggestions. Of the blends on this list, Ten Russians and Gaslight both occupy spots in my cellar. Not that they aren't wonderful fresh, I'm just waiting to finish my open supply of Plum Pudding before I pop these tins.

I'd like to add Nighcap as well; plenty of Latakia with a shot of Perique, which I enjoy. A real favorite on TobaccoReviews.com too!

About Mountain Camp, it is a toned down version of the same tobaccos used in the stronger C&D blend Bayou Night with the tobaccos in different proportions. I enjoy Latakia in a number of blends, but I do not crave it or shop blends for their Lat content. But from my perspective, Mountain Camp is no Lat bomb or particularly Lat forward. I find it a pleasant medium blend, a nice balanced flavor tending toward mild. I enjoy both Bayou Night and Mountain Camp and find them two entirely different blends. Without the C&D write-up, I could not have detected they are the same cast of tobaccos. You might sample Bayou Night, if you haven't, which is definitely robust.

C&D Pirate Kake is a well known lat bomb (75% latakia) and prob 1 of my favorite blends. I have a few pounds of that stuff. Same with GLP Gaslight...although not sure the % of latakia in that one, but it's another that I have a few pounds worth.

I certainly consider it lat forward but I catch the Cavendish just as much and just as often. I love mountain camp it's a great blend but it's a blend.

I haven't smoked an English blend in the last ten years. I know I was mighty impressed with Peterson Nightcap and Arango's Balkan Supreme when I was smoking them.
