It's not easy to find a unique style attributable to just one pipe maker.
Thanks- It's a work in progress for me...I used to make a lot of pipes 30 years ago but never made any stems at the time. I've really have struggled to get my stem work up to par since I started hand cutting them in June- good thing Harris shared some details on what makes a good stem or I'd still be lost in the wilderness. This is the best to date- wide open, crisp details, and an interesting style. I spent the past week going back through all the other stems refining details, opening the airway , etc.
you must of bent the stem after you took the picture with the knife, like the gentle bend
Yep- they all start out straight, then I heat them over a candle until the ebonite is soft, bend it, dunk it in water...and done!
