hello there! my first post. getting back into the hobby after a short stint when I was younger during which I realized I just wasn't old/wise/mature enough to smoke a pipe. but i am now.
question: i'm a big dude (6'3", 275) and have larger hands and frankly, a large head, and would love to hear any suqqestions for larger, heftier pipes than i personally have not been able to find. i live in NYC which has ZERO affordable pipe stores/tobacconists to actually go handle any pipes so i'd love to hear from you guys any brands/types of pipes that would be suited for big hands.
thanks y'all!
Edit: Corrected capitalization in title per Rule #9, L.

Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine

Please be kind enough to use proper capitalization in your posts as well.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the Brotherhood. An affordable larg pipe that is cool is the Nording Signature. It's a freehand from a well respected maker and they cost under $100. A steal in my book. If your wallet allows there are many other options that could appeal to you. Our member, Bradley, aka The Old Cajun is an expert on large pipes so I hope he chimes in with some suggestions.

Here's my Nording Signature.

Also, Here's my Loenzo Titania. I have larhe hands as well but this baby is a monster.

Good luck with your search and keep us posted.

I have a Nording signature as well, and like papipeguy said, they're pretty large. Yet there are some Nordings even larger such as this... http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/Nording/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=108584 A little pricier than the Signatures, but I'm betting it's a monster in person. The signatures are under 100 bucks and I absolutely love mine. As well, being unstained and unpolished, they color naturally with each smoke from the tobacco and the oils in your hands. It's a pleasure to watch it change.

Look around for Poul Winslow, sometimes on E-Bay you can get a deal, Ben Wade makes some Big Boys as well as Boswell, when I smoke the big boys most of mine are bent, I cock back and let it rest on my Cajun Belly, you"ll see a lot of Big Freehands, hope this helps you a little.

Boswell, Ardor and Ser Jacopo all make bigger pipes -- the Boswell Magnums, Jumbos and Grizzlys (which are huge) the Ardor Giants, and Ser Jac Maximas might be a good bet. None of them are cheap, but they're all great pipes.

In the world of cobs, Missouri Meerschaum has a few models that fit comfortably in larger hands - the Country Gentleman, for one:

I'm 6'2" myself, and the CG fits nicely in my hand (whether you replace the stem, as I've done, or not).
Other larger models include the Great Dane, the Diplomat, the General, the Freehand, and of course the MacArthur.

I am a large guy too, and even have an inch on you, but I like all sizes of pipes. For really large size pipes, my favourite is an Ardor - they make a number of larger sized pipes, and they also have a bit of panache as well.
EDIT: Just saw that Burg made the same comment re Ardors.

Check out Horace Dejarnett. He makes some large pipes. They sometimes come up as estates on Ebag. I just sold one of his pipes because it was just to large for me--I'm a scrawny old fart. Also once had a Tim West that was huge.

Thanks everyone. These are all great leads. Some of these are flipping behemoths! And my sincere apologies for the lack of proper punctuation. I realize this is a gentleman's forum. =)
Anyone know of the closest pipe store/tobacconist that I could get to to hold some pipes? the only one in NYC i've been to is up by the Waldorf and is a vortex of pretentiousness. CT, PA, NJ? Thanks for the help, gents!

Thanks! I did. Are these vetted by the community on here? I just don't want to drive to someplace that ends up being 90% cigars. =/
