You know, Im not usually big on paneled pipes but I could definitely make an exception for that one. Very nice grain and that thing looks like it's big enough to club someone over the head. I'd say you did very good sir!

Congratulations on your new pipe. Harris spoke highly of Wilmer in another post so you should enjoy it a lot.

Brad:
Good Lord, that Willmer grain runs true North!
You've taken me to school, friend.
My "Gets" list follows:
1. Bill Sargent (Hell, I've lived in Topeka for 14 years. I'm a Kansan now.)

2. Willmer (Thanks, Harris. Here's another under-recognized pipe maker I have to acknowledge,)

3. a pre-Lane Charatan
That panel is a beauty, Good score, pal.

Great score Bradley. That is a beauty. One of my Willmers has those dimples right where yours are, it is kind of cool. How big is that one, ODA or bigger?

Harris the bowl height is 2.5 inches and the bowl diameter is 1 inch, did a light ream and a retort, I have smoked 2 bowls in it and I have to say most panels that I have done this too smokes a little hot till it builds cake, not this one, warm but not hot, Love it and the below 100$ price. The old cajun

Brad,

That's a great Willmer Panel for sure. Do you find that there are more collectors out there focusing in on that brand lately?? I think they have been overlooked for years and can still be had for reasonable cost in comparison to some Charatan pipes. Enjoy that 2 hour smoker! Nice find.

Thanks for the info gents. They are indeed exquisitely grained pipes. I had six of them a year ago and parted with them because being a Charatan collector I just wasn't smoking them. Now I see that there is quite a bit of interest in them and believe that they will begin to increase in price. It's good to get in on the ground floor while you can. Happy collecting.
